Role at Community Tax
John has been with Community Tax for over two and a half years, where he currently holds the role of Managing Practitioner in the Client Care and Satisfaction Department. During his time here, John has helped clients negotiate resolutions with the IRS and State Departments of Revenue. His strategized solutions range from repayment plans to declarations of hardship, Offers in Compromise and lump-sum settlements.
John also makes it a point to listen to each and every one of his clients’ concerns, ensuring they receive the best possible service catered to their unique needs. His attention to detail allows him to strategize favorable outcomes for everyone he assists through Community Tax.
John received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He went on to attend John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, so he could study income tax law. During his time there, he worked at the school’s Northside Fair Housing Clinic and gained experience representing clients in mortgage foreclosure defense. John also spent time on the John Marshall Law School’s Federal Litigation Team, representing the plaintiff in a prisoner’s rights case.
After graduating law school, John spent two years working as a clerk at a securities litigation firm specializing in SEC defense, promissory note collection, and FINRA arbitration. From there, he transitioned into his role at Community Tax. He’s licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
