Role at Community Tax
Daniel Urban is currently the Vice President of Customer Relations at Community Tax, where he works tirelessly to increase overall client satisfaction. He previously held the role of Director of Tax Preparation, which required him to oversee prepared returns, examinations, and audits. He also oversaw the team’s tax planning services and accounting services, making him well-versed in his field and well-rounded in his current position. With over nine years of experience working at Community Tax, Daniel is a loyal, knowledgeable, and dedicated member of our team.
Daniel’s career began when he received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then went on to graduate with honors from Michigan State University College of Law in 2009 and received a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Northwestern University School of Law. During his law school years, Daniel represented tax controversy clients as a student clinician, which is when he decided to pursue his passion for tax advocacy upon graduation.
At Community Tax, Daniel represents clients with tax controversies in federal and state income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and international tax. He also has an extensive history negotiating tax controversies with IRS Collections, IRS Appeals, IRS Examination, the Offer in Compromise unit, U.S. Tax Court, and state taxing authorities.
Daniel is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois and before the U.S. Tax Court. He has been working in tax resolutions for over ten years and has personally negotiated $11 million in tax savings for his clients.
