When Barry’s not helping his clients resolve tax issues, he dedicates his time to volunteering for Gilda’s Club Chicago. Gilda’s Club Chicago is a place where people from all walks of life impacted by cancer can join a community of support. He spends his time volunteering for a variety of other local charities, as well. Along with his dedication to his community, Barry was also a Member of the Board of Directors for the River North Business Association. While on the Board, he acted as Treasurer for 21 years. He currently resides in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, with his wife and his fluffy golden retriever, Sophie.

Role at Community Tax
As a tax practitioner, Barry helps Community Tax clients prepare and file their individual or business income tax returns and provides advice on various tax topics. He also became a Certified Public Accountant after passing the CPA Exam back in 1981. With his CPA, Barry’s able to assist individuals and businesses on a variety of issues, such as taxes and accounting.
Barry’s extensive career began after graduating from Northern Illinois University’s College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 1979. After obtaining his CPA certification, he began working as a staff accountant for a few small firms then decided to transition into the private sector and become the CEO of a regional printing corporation. Over the past decade, he performed certified audits along with general ledger preparation and income tax preparation for small, medium, and large businesses. His career also included preparation and consultation of Federal and State Individual income taxes.
