Career

Annabelle received her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School where she was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient for all three years. Annabelle externed in the John Marshall Law School Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic where she wrote federal appellate briefs and argued successfully in Federal Court on behalf of Veterans who had improperly been denied benefits. Upon graduating, the Dean awarded her membership to the national honorary organization, The Order of Barristers, for her exceptional oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

Prior to attending JMLS, Annabelle graduated as a Centennial Honors Scholar from Western Illinois University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. Near the end of her time at Western, she was chosen by her professors and peers as the Departmental Scholar of English and asked to present her Senior Honors Thesis at an international convention held annually in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Prior to working at Community Tax, Annabelle was a civil litigation attorney with a focus on medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. She also gained extensive experience in probate and estate law. Prior to working as a civil litigation attorney, Annabelle worked with the Chicago legal team for Guggenheim Partners, a global investment and advisory financial services firm that engages in investment banking, asset management, capital markets services, and insurance services.

Annabelle continues to devote time to philanthropic organizations such as Urban Initiatives, The Peterson Garden Project, and Women Everywhere. In her free time, she enjoys investigative journalism, running, and yoga.
